When Lawyers were forbidden to advertise, personal injury cases were tried almost exclusively by local attorneys with excellent results. The fact that lawyers now advertise does not make them better attorneys. Anyone who wants to spend the money can be on television. Generally an attorney who has been able to maintain a good practice without advertising has done so by earning a reputation in the community for providing good legal services.  In the end the client is normally well served to select an experienced local attorney to represent his or her interest, whether they advertise or not.
