Why You Need A Local Attorney.
The Myth Regarding Personal Injury Litigation.
When Lawyers were forbidden to advertise, personal injury cases were tried almost exclusively by local attorneys with excellent results. The fact that lawyers now advertise does not make them better attorneys. Anyone who wants to spend the money can be on television. Generally an attorney who has been able to maintain a good practice without advertising has done so by earning a reputation in the community for providing good legal services.
Most lawyers who have practiced for any length of time have tried numerous small and large personal injury cases. They share the same knowledge of the law, experience and abilities as those who advertise. Today attorneys who are computer literate have the same research capabilities available to them as the larger firms. However, attorneys who do not live and practice in a large metropolitan area find it impracticable to spend the resources to advertise on television to a market that is unlikely to select an attorney in a rural setting outside of their area. In the end the client is normally well served to select an experienced local attorney to represent his or her interest, whether they advertise or not.
