Domestic Violence

Domestic violence generally encompasses any physically violent act or mental abuse visited upon a party by someone in that person's home, or by someone with whom a family or ongoing social relationship is shared. Such violence is a criminal act and one that brings a host of repercussions for any person inflicting this type of violence on a victim.

Cases of domestic violence are complex and can get even more complicated, as very powerful emotions are involved. The outcome of these cases can cripple an individual's life. Victims can be left vulnerable to future attacks.

The consequences of a domestic violence conviction are severe.  A wrongful conviction could force an innocent defendant to live the rest of her life under the stigma of domestic abuse. For this reason, you'll want to get some expert legal advice before embarking on a domestic violence case.
